Halloween DIY- Spiders

I am a craft supply hoarder… I just can’t help myself, when I walk into a craft store, I feel obligated to buy anything on clearance and to use up all of my coupons, you know, just in case I NEED it for some project down the line that I haven’t even had the idea for. Always be prepared, right?

And so, my craft closet currently reflects my hoarding tendencies and is getting to the point where I can’t even tell what is in there anymore.

My plan- start working my way through my stash. All those projects that have been on the back burner are going to get done. If I find some supplies and am able to come up with an idea for them, I’m making it, otherwise, I guess it’s time to get rid of it. I just can’t handle the disarray any longer and I’m pretty sure my husband might kill me if I bring anything else home without dealing with this mess first.

First up on the list of projects while clearing out- Halloween spiders!

B1

I was feeling particularly craft one morning last week and went looking to some supplies in my craft closet. I am in dire need of Halloween decorations and so when I saw these pipe cleaners and pom poms sitting next to each other, spiders instantly popped into my head. Luckily I had some googly eyes on hand too!

B2

Take 3 pipe cleaners.

B3

Fold them in half to find the center.

B4

Twist them together around the center.

B5

Bend each side in half.

B6

Then bend just the tips of each pipe cleaner out.B7

Spread out the spider’s legs.

B8

Glue a pom pom on top.

B9

And add some googly eyes. Get creative with these, I added 3 and 4 to some of mine in different patterns too!

B10

Before you know it, you will have a whole swarm of spiders.

B11

And then you can have fun placing them all throughout your house.B12

Their super bendy legs make it easy to attach them to pretty much anything.

B13

These would be a great Halloween craft to make with kids and would be a perfect non-edible favor for classroom treats. Brynlee loves the one I gave her and has had fun moving it around the house hiding it in different places.

Happy Crafting!!!
