A Magical Unicorn 5th Birthday

Brynlee turned 5 in June and we celebrated her big day with a Magical Unicorn Birthday party!!!

I tend to go a little overboard on birthday parties, I just love the planning, the decorating and hosting parties! But since we moved just 2 weeks before Brynlee’s birthday party was scheduled, I couldn’t have been happier that Brynlee had requested her 5th party be at Gold Medal Gymnastics. We had so much fun and the staff were all so amazing and helpful! I don’t know that I’ll ever host another birthday party at my house again, we had that great of an experience. If you’re local, you should definitely check them out!

I ordered the birthday invitations on Etsy, as I do every year, and had them printed at Sam’s Club as 5×7 pictures. I love all the customization options Etsy offers and printing them as a photo makes it super cost effective.

Another item I always order on Etsy is the birthday candle and I always order from Wendy. She is amazing and will work with you to customize your candle to your party decor. I have always been so impressed with her candles and always get compliments on them.

Something else that completely took my breath away… the cake!!!

I mean seriously, how beautiful!!!

And look at those adorable little cupcakes! We were all in love!

Especially Brynlee who wanted to eat each and every one!

We are super fortunate to have a baker in the family that has recently started selling her creations, so if you’re local and want her info let me know. She also made the most amazing taco cake with matching cupcakes for my niece’s birthday. She is seriously so talented!

Every aspect of this party I tried to rein myself in and not go overboard. Since we held her party in between lunch and dinner, in addition to the cupcakes we also offered light snacks.

Annie’s snack mix (a favorite in our house), some veggies, fruit and party popcorn (recipe coming soon).

With lemonade and bottled water for the drinks. Plates, napkins, table cloth and cups with lids are here, straws are here and the beverage dispenser is here (only $20). I normally put it on a cake plate, but forgot it #movingproblems

The favor bags are my favorite part of planning any party! My love language is gifts and I love giving them. Putting a lot of thought into the favor bags is my way of saying “thank you so much for celebrating my baby girl”. This year I found the bags on Amazon, the tissue paper I found at Target with all 3 colors in the pack and matched the rest of the party perfectly. Inside the favor bags I included these amazing unicorn horns that were the hit of the party, I will never forget the look on all of the little girl’s faces as they pulled them out and put them on! A page of stickers, a unicorn themed stationary set that I found on clearance in the Target dollar bins back in March. A glow stick necklace and a rainbow unicorn horn lollipop.

Also, Brynlee’s adorable unicorn outfit is an Amazon find, along with her unicorn headband. She didn’t wear her unicorn horn during the activities, but loved her outfit and said it was super comfortable!

The first part of the party, all of the kids get to play in the gymnasium. They run them through 4 different centers where they run, climb, play and burn a ton of energy! The birthday girl got to be the line leader the whole time, which was basically the greatest thing ever to her!

This party is great for all ages, even Lincoln got in on the action and had a blast climbing on everything!

On her actual birthday we hosted a pancake breakfast (a tradition) and invited our new neighbors over.

She loved every minute of it! We also went to Chik-fil-a for lunch (her favorite) and that evening she had dance where they all sang to her. She had an amazing 5th birthday!

Happy Birthday my sweet baby girl! You are the one that made me a mama and I could not be more proud of the amazing young lady you are becoming. You are beautiful on the outside and also within, you have the kindest heart and give love graciously. You find the beauty in everything and I am constantly in awe of you.  I know you are going to love going to kindergarten and while I will miss spending all my days with you, I know you will do great things and am so excited to see whats to come this next year. I love you so, so much!! Love Always, Mama
