Lunch Box Diaries Vol. 2

Welcome back to another volume of #BMlunchboxdiaries, make sure you are following along each day on Instagram to see what lunch we made that day!

I’ve linked all resources at the end.

Monday-  Banana Bread (recipe from Magnolia Table and is seriously AH-mazing!!) Broccoli, Baby Carrots and Hummus for dipping and some Trail Mix. For her afternoon snack I sent pretzels.

Tuesday- Turkey and Cheese Pinwheels (turkey, cheese, a little bit of mayo or hummus, wrapped in a tortilla and sliced into bite sized portions), Pirate’s Booty, Yogurt and Strawberries with some granola to top it off. For her snack, veggie straws.

Wednesday- We made a homemade lunchable, sliced turkey, cheese squares and crackers (we like Mary’s Gone Crackers). Broccoli with Hummus to dip and Applesauce. Her snack was a pumpkin muffin.

Thursday- I decided to try out Brynlee’s Thermos, so I whipped up some of her fave Mac and Cheese that morning and it was a huge hit! She said it was still plenty warm by lunch time and loved being able to have one of her favorite foods at school. I also sent an applesauce as a side. For her snack she had graham crackers.

Friday- I decided to revamp the regular ol’ PB&J sandwich and turn it into Pinwheels! I also packed a Yogurt Stick, Broccoli (can you tell I was trying to get through our broccoli supply this week) with Hummus and Annie’s Snack Mix. She had freeze dried strawberries and bananas for her snack.

Resources for our lunch prep station:

From the top, lunch boxes are PBKids, Purple and Blue Bentgo (also here), Ziploc 3 compartment (I found them at Target for less, but wasn’t able to find them on, I did find this similar one from Up & Up for the same price I paid),

I also bought pink forks and spoons for her lunches from Target to make it more fun! The square and heart food cups are great for breaking up larger compartments in the bento boxes. The napkins are all from the Target dollar bin, I pick them up whenever they go on clearance, again just something to make her lunches a little more fun.

Water Bottle- We love this PBK water bottle, it holds ice all day (which is saying something considering we’ve been under severe hear advisory for the whole first week of school). I also got the matching thermos, but haven’t had a chance to use it, it’s just been too hot!

Mini cups with lids– I purchased these on a whim at Target (again, I can’t find them on, but they are next to the other food storage containers and much cheaper), but I am so glad I did! These are completely leak proof and work great for housing dips or other small snacks that you don’t want to be loose.

And lastly, not pictured are these small storage containers that I use for Brynlee’s snacks so they don’t get crushed in a plastic baggie and they have been the perfect size for a small afternoon snack.

I hope this helps with your school lunch prep and please let me know if you have any other questions about our lunches or where I got something!

Also, I’d love to know what some of your favorite lunch boxes items are, leave a comment letting me know!

And thanks for following along!

xo, Cassidi
