Spring Old Navy Picks

Old Navy has been having a ton of great sales recently! So when I saw their 40% with free shipping offer a couple of weeks ago, I took advantage and ordered some things for Brynlee.

Old NavySalePicks

1. This tutu dress is so fun! It’s super comfortable and Brynlee has deemed it her princess dress!

2. I love this little floral dress, it’s only $8 right now and is perfect for when Brynlee needs to be a little dressier, like a birthday party or when we go out to dinner.

3. The perfect, casual summer dress, I ordered it in two colors! It’s super comfy and perfect for school, the park or even to thrown on over her swimsuit after a day at the pool or splash pad.

4. These shorts are currently on sale for $6! And the floral print is super fun!

5. I have Brynlee wear these shorts under her dresses, they are light weight and allow her to still be her active/rambunctious self while still keeping her modest.

6. This swimsuit is so adorable!! I love the print and it has a cutout on the back that is perfection! Between pool days, going to the splash pad and swim lessons, we get a lot of use out of our swim wear and this one is less than $10!

7. I was planning on getting Brynlee a pair of Native’s this summer, but when I saw these for less than half the price I had to try them out! Plus the heart cutouts are the cutest! Brynlee has already gotten a ton of wear out of them. They are easy for her to slip on and have great traction for when we are at the pool or the splash pad so she doesn’t slip and fall.

8. I used to love Jellies as a kid, so when I saw these I had to get them for Brynlee. They are super similar to these mini melissa shoes for a fraction of the price. And Brynlee calls them her jelly bean shoes, which is pretty much the cutest thing ever!

Happy Shopping!

Junk in the Trunk 2016 Market Recap

Oh my, do I love the Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market! I usually go with my mother in law and sister in law and it has become a guaranteed girls weekend for us the twice a year it comes to town.

If you haven’t been, or have no idea what I’m talking about, it is basically a vintage/antique/handmade market that is held twice a year here in Phoenix (actually Scottsdale) and has recently expanded to a market in San Diego and Los Angeles. The two ladies who run it curate some of the best antique and handmade shops around (I think there were over 150 at the one this weekend) to make for one amazing shopping experience.

We have been to the market a handful of times and have always found some amazing treasures. We learned our lesson quick, after our first market and have since sprung for the VIP tickets. Not only do you get some pretty sweet swag, like the hat and bag pictured above, but you get in a day early and are able to shop without all the crowds. Because on general admission days it is CROWDED!!! As in, you can barely move from booth to booth and it is crazy! Good luck getting what you came for…

Part of the fun of the market is that you never know what you’re going to find! While I do follow a lot of the vendors on Instagram, it’s always a surprise to see what they bring. This trip I apparently focused more on the handmade, whereas our previous shopping experiences I’ve come home with more antiques.

I have been wanting an Olivewood heart for a long time and am so glad I finally got one! My mother in law, sister in law and I all picked out matching rose gold necklaces to commemorate our special time together! It will be so fun to all wear them whenever we do things together. And the lace hemmed tank is a pregnant girls dream come true! It is basically an extension for any shirt to insure no belly peeks out and even though it isn’t a maternity item, they run big and are super stretchy, I bought a medium and it fits great.

I also picked a few things up for Brynlee. This dress from Royal Bowtique is perfection!!!! She wore it Saturday to the mall and we had so many strangers stop us asking about the dress. I couldn’t find it online, but hopefully they will restock soon! I’d love to find it in other patterns too! Also from Royal Bowtique, the rhinestone cat ears, they were the last pair and I’m so glad I was able to snag these for my little cat lover. She is obsessed with them and loves that they are sparkly! And the adorable unicorn horn has made Brynlee’s dreams come true! She wears it all the time declaring herself to be Princess Twilight Sparkle.

And I couldn’t go without picking up at least a few things for the nursery. I am a huge fan of Yellow Bungalow Shop and have this print hanging in Brynlee’s room, so I was super excited to find some prints to add to the nursery. The vintage map print will go perfectly with the theme I have in mind, I can’t want to start hanging everything and see it come together. I’ll share my nursery plans soon!

We had so much fun at Junk in the Trunk and can’t wait to go again in April!

Will I see you there?

Labor Day Weekend

Hello Friends! I hope you all had an amazing long weekend!

Ours was spent with family and friends and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more! As evidenced by the fact that I only took 2 pictures this whole weekend!

We started off the weekend with breakfast at one of our favs, Liberty Market and a trip to the Farmer’s Market. Then we rounded out our Saturday with a pool party at my sister in laws house! Too much food and too much fun!!

Brynlee’s Dress- Gap (not available online)

On Sunday, the boys headed out for their annual dove hunting excursion and us girls got our shopping on! The highlight of Brynlee’s weekend was getting her first every Starbucks (aka chocolate milk with whipped cream and chocolate drizzled on top). While we were ordering, Brynlee quietly said to me “Mama, I need a coffee” and when I asked her what she said, she again said “I need a coffee too, Mama!” The Barista was so sweet to offer to make her a chocolate milk that looked exactly like an iced mocha. Brynlee was so excited when hers came out, it really made her day. Thank you Starbucks!

Brynlee’s Dress- Crazy 8 (On sale!!), Shoes- Old from Target

Truth be told, we really spent the entire weekend shopping. My aunt was looking for a special occasion dress for a work event and I was looking for great Labor day deals, which I found when we went to Old Navy and was able to snag a pair of maternity skinny jeans for $0.97!!!! I still can’t believe I got so lucky as to find them. Old Navy was having a lot of great sales this weekend, we also found a few things for Brynlee, like this sweater knit poncho, these super cute skinny jeans and a few waffle knit tees. I really wanted to get her these lace up flats, but sadly they were out in her size.

On Monday we said goodbye to our visiting family, met some out of town friends for lunch (it was so great catching up!) and took a much needed nap. All in all a wonderful weekend!

And now back to our normal routine which is all messed up because I keep thinking today is Monday…

Recent World Market Finds (and things I wish I’d gotten)

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I recently purchased the most adorable scone pan while I was at World Market the other day.

While I was there I snagged a few other things I thought I’d share today as well as a few things I wished I brought home.

PicMonkey Collage

Scone Pan– I can’t wait to try this recipe and this one and maybe a few others.

Fresh Baked Pies– I’ve actually wanted this sign for a while, but never pulled the trigger. However after repainting our kitchen last year and making some additional updating plans, I know this will go perfectly with the direction I want to go, it’s on sale too!

Mason Jar Spoon Rest– Ugh! I broke my old spoon rest ages ago and never replaced it, so when I saw this adorable mason jar one, it had to come home with me!

Things I wish I’d gotten (and might go back for):

PicMonkey Collage2

Jade Cake Stands– I love jade dishes and am a self proclaimed cake stand hoarder, I want them all! These are so, so pretty! World Market has a whole line of pretty jade dishes that I wouldn’t mind adding to my collection.

Napkins– I LOVE these napkins, they are gorgeous and perfect for those special occasions. I’ve been planning to make myself a some cloth napkins, but they wouldn’t have the delicate details these napkins do, so I would still love to get some.

Bunny Water Bottle– Truth be told, this little gem will probably find it’s way into Brynlee’s Easter basket. I love the vintage style bunnies!

Dining Table– Okay, okay, this table isn’t coming home with me anytime soon. But I’ve always wanted a round dining table and it makes me wish I had a cute little dining nook for it to go. In a different house, at a different time I suppose…

Life Lately

I hate to admit it, but I am kind of over summer… It is just so hot here that we are really limited on the activities we can do, most all of which are indoors and I think we are both getting a bit of cabin fever. So yes, I am really looking forward to the cooler temps when we can head outside again for walks and trips to the park to burn off all that excess 2 year old energy!

I do still have a few more weeks (okay, probably more than a few) of these hot temps so in the meantime we’ve been trying to perfect our baking skills.

Last week we made these banana pancake muffins and they we delish!

Brynlee devoured them!!! We will definitely be making them again soon!

We have been trying to get outside either early in the morning or in the evening when it isn’t quite so scorching outside.

As you can see, I try to stick to the shade, while Brynlee has way too much fun at her water table. I can really see a change in her behavior when we are able to make it outside for just a little while during the day. It helps us all stay sane and if we get out in the morning it usually means a nice long nap!

If you follow on Instagram then you know we like having indoor picnics this time of year. And this little girl has decided she has outgrown apple slices and will now only eat apples in their whole form, unless it’s applesauce that is, which might just be her favorite food currently.

My Aunt and cousin came to stay with us Friday night and Saturday morning we got up early to head to the Farmer’s Market and for breakfast at Liberty Martket which is one of my favorite places!

On the short walk between the Farmer’s Market and Liberty Market, Brynlee had to make a stop at this water ball and was completely soaked by the time we were able to pull her away from it.

After a quick stop home to change, we headed back out to do some shopping. As you can see, I have a sunglasses lover on my hands, maybe she was the real inspiration behind the new product in my shop.

On Sunday we had another fun day planned and us girls went over to my sister in law’s house to go swimming. Brynlee had a blast and is getting so good an maneuvering herself around in the pool. I wouldn’t say she is swimming quite yet, but we put her in one of these little floaters and she gets around pretty well. I am always right by her side in case she does need help, but little miss independent prefers to do things on her own and shouts and emphatic “no” if I try to hold on to her.

So here we are, in for another hot week. We have dance once again today, last week wasn’t quite as horrible as it has been the previous two, but we have a long way to go, hoping today will be even better! And then I’ll just be looking forward to this weekend when we try to escape the heat by visiting family in Prescott!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too! And check back tomorrow, I’ll have a fun Mickey Mouse inspired tutorial from Brynlee’s 2nd birthday party!

An Impromptu Visit

Earlier this week, my mom had a random day off of work and decided to come for a fun, but all too quick visit. We only live a couple of hours apart, unfortunately busy lives get in the way of frequent visits. She spent the night Monday and Tuesday morning we headed out early to do some shopping. Somehow I managed to not take any pictures of me, her and Brynlee together, so in lieu of those I thought I would share some of the great deals we found while shopping around.

Our first stop was Old Navy and they were having a great “buy 2 get 1 free” sale on their clearance. I was on the hunt for a few things for Brynlee, she is currently growing out of 12 and 12-18 month sizes and while she has a few 18 or 18-24 month clothes, she does not have very many. I also wanted to try to find some warmer clothes, the majority of her wardrobe is shorts, tank tops and sundresses and it is finally starting to cool down a little bit here.

I was lucky enough to find this super cute vest on the clearance rack for $11! This will be the perfect addition to Brynlee’s wardrobe as we transition to cooler temps.

I also found these two tops, they were only $5 each and since we got 3 items one of them was free.

How cute will the vest be paired with this top! I can’t wait for Brynlee to wear it!

Another awesome deal we found there were these cute summer sandals. I got them a few sizes too big so Brynlee will be able to wear them next spring/summer and for less the $2, I just couldn’t pass them up!

Next door to our Old Navy is Marshall’s, we were waiting for another store to open nearby so we decided to swing in to see what deals they had to offer. I am so glad we did, we found these Bobs by Sketchers for only $14.99! Brynlee is just growing out of her current shoe size so I’ve been on the hunt for some hard soled shoes for her for a few weeks and luckily they had one pair in her size!

After Marshall’s we walked through a few more shops nearby before heading over to San Tan Mall. It was the perfect day to spend shopping at an outdoor mall, absolutely beautiful weather!

We weren’t really having any luck at the shops there, but I did want to stop in the Disney store to look at some Minnie Mouse ears and matching shoes for Brynlee’s Halloween costume. I’ve gone back and forth on making my own, but they were having a 40% off all Halloween items sale so these ears were only $4.77 and I just couldn’t pass them up. I found some Aurora shoes, for $7.77, that matched her costume a lot better than the ones they had for Minnie (plus, I didn’t think that the small heel on the Minnie shoes would work very well for Brynlee). Unfortunately they didn’t have them in Brynlee’s size, but they offered to order them for me and ship them to my house within 7 days for free, so once again I was sold!

Once we were done at the Disney store, we decided to head back home for some lunch. After that we ran a few more errands before my mom had to leave in hopes of beating rush hour traffic. I am so glad that she was able to come and spend some quality time with us. Brynlee had so much fun having Grandma here and cried when she left and I know she misses her.

This doesn’t really fall under our wonderful Grandma visit shopping time, but the next day I went to Target for a few things and had to pick up this cute waffle knit top for Brynlee. It was only $6 and I think it will look so cute with the vest I had gotten from Old Navy the day before.

I also picked up this cute outfit on the clearance rack for only $8.40. I fell in love with the little foxes and just couldn’t pass it up.

I think it is safe to say that Brynlee had some good shopping karma these past few days. I can’t believe how many great deals we found! I wish that would work for me when I’m looking for something for myself! What great deals have you been finding lately? Oh and Old Navy is now running a “buy 1 get 1 50% off anything in the store” sale on top of their “buy 2 get 1 free” clearance sale right now.  Happy shopping!
